orrrrr how about you just buy a big turbo and be done with it? slap on a holset or a 60 trim not these baby turbos.

Not all of us like to go in a straight line all the time :thumb:

A 16g is hardly a "baby turbo" for about 95% of dsmers. What's with everyone and always upgrading and upgrading even though they're no where near the full potential of their current setup.

Do we ever think that some of us are on a budget and cant afford to dump upwarx of 500$ for a turbo. I mean its not just the turbo, but work, injrctors, fuel pump, ect. I say go for it, its a good deal, if it is an inferior quality part, just try not to push it to its limits.

I just sold my mhi big 16g in mint condition with a stainless steel o2 housing for $380 shipped. you just got to check the classifieds

install it and go hard on it, if it fails just see if you can put the hotside on your 14B, i bought a 20G from ebay once, the turbo fail really fast becasuse i was boosting 18psi :hellyeah: but i still use de hot side on mi 14B and improve a lot in the upper rpms beacuse its ported and 7cm, in my case also help with spool because the original housing was cracked all over hahaha a friend of my has an ebay 16G boosting 21psi and its working fine, just try and see how it works, good luck :thumb:

Just slap it on and see what happens.. It might be a good one. Good Luck!!!

The turbine housing WILL fit on this turbo, I know cause I tried it last weekend for a customers car. He ended up going with the 14b housing though.

Not only is the spool better due to the cast 7cm^2 housing, but the outlet for the wastegate is cast bigger and the arm for the wastegate has a farther reach. In other words, the turbo will be better at controlling the boost, reducing spike and creep.

It'll work but don't expect the longevity and quality of a real mitsu turbo.

Not only a ebay 16g but a used ebay 16g? I would not waste the time to instal it. Rock the 14b until u can buy a real one.

Listen take advice from me, I ran a big E316G eBay turbo for over a year and a half on 20lbs making 280whp on my 2g, that thing was super reliable, the only thing with the Chinese turbos is that they don't make the power they should with my same setup on a real mhi I would have easily made 330whp, now I'm running a bullseye 57 trim and it lasted less time than the eBay turbo LOL, so run the turbo man as long as it has no shaft play, and check it every oil change, good luck you got a great deal, also if you don't have the supporting mods you probally won't pass 16lbs of boost because you'll probally get a fuel cut

And that's why people say DSM's are unreliable... People slap on a "big turbo" and don't do any supporting mods, great advice. :ohdamn:

Think it was a joke. But like others mentioned, this is definitely Chinese. If you dont want to keep swapping turbos, i would just take the 14b off and port it and do some supporting mods and push it to its max but being safe. I think you'd be happy with a properly tuned 14b.

I saw that turbo on Craigslist and asked the guy for a pic of the front cover. Haha. He insisted that it is real and never sent pics. If you need another ebay turbo for parts when that one breaks hit me up. I have a couple in the garage...

You have yet to answer if it has any shaft play. If it does not, run it! If it does fail, take off the hotside, port the 14b and add the 7cm housing and then run it that way. That setup is an excellent way to give the 14b a bit more power up top.

Don't let people get ya down man. My gst had a 16g from ebay when i bought it. Had a little shaft play so I rebuilt it. Been workin fine ever since. Don't let the shit talking get to you. For most of us guys on a budget, who have things in their lives other than cars to spend money on, the ebay turbos do just fine. Don't get me wrong, I'd like to swap in a holset eventually, but until I'm done with school the ebay turbo will get the job done.

Mostly all the ebay turbo's say turbo on it. Or turbocharged. But besides that its a pretty good deal. But idk if I would install an ebay turbo on my car.

I'd definitely run it.. It was a decent deal for the price, for sure. I know several people who run eBay knockoff turbos and they have worked just fine.. With that said, I know a few people who have had theirs blow-apart. I would say give it a go, there's a decent chance that you won't have a problem for a while, if it does die a quick death, use any of the parts from it you can.

exactly.. why else would we pay to have AWD if our "big turbos" arent spooling fast enough out of a turn. :) keep the 14b IMO.. i just bought a replacement hotside for my 14b since it was cracked.. but the one i got is ported :) should be fun..

I fail to see how a turbo going bad is going to blow your head... But that's just me. It's virtually impossible for compressor wheel fragments to make it to the engine, there is a lot of piping, including an intercooler that it would have to make it through.
T hats what I thought until I saw it happen.
