Alright, I bought a 98' GS-T.
The thing is bone stock, just something fun I wanted to have.
I drive it around, get the feel of it, notice that I have a lot of white smoke coming from the tailpipe when I spool the turbo high.
Talked to a few guys around here, swear up and down it's the turbo oil seal.
So I replace the turbo with a new T25.
Get it running, same problem...
I run it above 3K rpm, and start pulling with boost, it's smoking...
Replaced the PCV valve, double-check all the vacuum lines, and ran a pressure test on all the pistons. Everything is normal, not leaking anything, oil pressure normal, not overheating...
I may be losing some coolant, but I'm keeping an eye on it.

I am at a loss as to what it could be, little help?

It could be a valve steam seal but that is more likely to be at low RPM/Idle. So, perform a LEAKDOWN test and post result.

Do you have any oil in the intercooler pipe? shaft play? Probably it could be another blown turbo.

Remember, your compresion rings doesn't have anything to do with your oil rings. you can have good compression but still burning oil by the pistons.

Alright.
Friend of mine and I are doing a Leakdown Test on Wednesday.
There was oil from the old turbo, the new one rebuilt, no miles on it.
I would like to think there's nothing wrong with it.
But what's the possibility of a blown head gasket, even though I'm having no overheating problems...

Well, you said you did a compression test and came out good. Do you have coolant mix with oil? or oil mixed with the coolant? If everething is ok. I would say it is a low chance of blown HG.
you said you are loosing coolant. have you find out if it is slowly leaking out? if it is not you are burning it and that means almost blown HG. ussually white smoke = coolant. Black smoke = fuel and blue smoke = oil.

How many miles is on the motor? What tuning device you have in the car? What boost are you set up at? You may be runing too rich wich can develop smoke but it would be a darkish color.....

With the coolant, I'm keeping an eye on it.
I dropped about 8oz last night, I know that.
With the boost, I'm not too sure what it's set up at, I have nothing tuning it.
Motor was replaced, not too sure of the exact milage on it.
The car it self has 83k on it.

Also, another thing, when the old turbo was pulled, the turbine and wastegate were white...

i had the same problem evertime i shift a cloud of white smoke came out everyone said turbo is gone or head gasket or whatever else you can think of i bought 1 can of engine restore poured it in and 800 miles later no smoke also my car has 160k on it so 6.00 for the can worth a shot my problem was probaly valve seals ..but the engine restore is good for compression to so why not .

Well about that it was an exhaust leak so obviously you got it fix by changing the gaskets and installing it tight.

About the smoke I would recomend you to use MCCC or seafoam just to clean things up and see if the car feels better. then come back to us with the results....
;)

Alright, so after the leak down test found out that the leak was coming out of the front of the engine. Then I even noticed oil seeping out between the head and the block.
So that's getting replaced.
A friend of mine got a hold of a ported 1g head that I'm going to put on.
So hopefully that'll solve this problem and I can work on other things I've been wanting to get at.

Big Thanks to TITOGS95, huge help.
