heres the story. i have white smoke coming out the exhaust.

when i start the car there is no smoke. after the car is almost completly warmed up is when i start to have white smoke coming out the exhaust. when im driving there is no smoke, but say when i come to a stop or a light is when you notice the white smoke start to come out.

i search and looked at some of the threads, but couldn't find any problems that were exactly like mine. can anyone help and tell me the most likely problem i have?

Turbo... When my T-25 went last month it started like that then eventually began smoking all the time. It burnt up a hella amount of oil, but the smoke was pure white. See how the oil seals are and the exhaust housing and shaft play.

Turbos usually go around 100k, valve stem seals usually go around 140k.

Ah. White smoke is a bad sign :shhh: Do you have the oppurtunity to do a compression check? If your Headgasket is going, its letting coolant into the combustion chamber, which is white smoke out the exhaust. A compression check does what it says, it checks compression in each cylinder. If the headgasket was blown, compression would be lower than what it should be, letting you know your headgasket is blown. Keep us posted

thanks sjgYFZ200.. im going to check that out when i get out of school today. i dont have the tools but my friend does so i'll take it to his house to check it out.. i'll let you guys know if it was a headgasket or not.

If your valve stem seals were shot, it should smoke on start up. I would venture to say that it's your turbo. I had to 2-14b turbos go out on me and the same thing happened to me, it would smoke (white) when idling for any given amount of time, and sometimes between shifts. My last blown turbo was just this week, but, anyway check it for shaft play, and also look at the clamp that holds the housings together. Check from the engine compartment and below the car and see if there is oil around it. If there is, than there's a good chance that the seals are out on the turbo. Good luck.

definently keep checking the oil and add when needed. I was burning oil and now my car is FUBAR, so keep that thing oiled.
