Permatorque Headgasket holes in block covered...?

For anyone researching this head gasket, Felpro recommends NOT putting anything on the gasket during install. The new permatorques are coated and do not require anything else added.

For all the people that use copper spray. Have your oil analyzed after you install a head gasket with copper spray, it will be full of copper flakes.

I've read that this is true with MLS gaskets since the outside layers are fixed while the inner layers can expand properly.



Where did you find out it was caused from the copper spray? I would assume it's just coming from overhang by the oil ports.
 
Here's some pictures of the old gasket vs the new one. I'd have to ask Jeff Bush as to if they use any spray or not. But by the looks of things they don't use any and I tend to agree that it's not needed. You can see that it actually peels off the old HG and sticks to the head which is all you need the spray for anyway.
