BS Elimnator Holes On Block?

do these holes need to be blocked? The screw type plugs ended up stripping. I Figure they do not need to be blocked since the BS Bearings block the holes. Is this correct?

red circle, There is two of these plugs on my block. Will they be ok without the plugs in them?

From what VFaq says they are just there for the factory to drill the oiling system.
So does this mean i can just leave them out?
 
anyone know the answer to this? I cannot find anything about this anywhere
 
yes you want to block the holes if not you will have a bad oil leak.


even if the BS bearing is blocking the hole? Im talking about the red circle, Not the Oil galley hole.
 
If you take out the balance shafts, the bearings in the front need to be blocked, not the ones in the rear. You can either leave the front shaft in to just sit there or knock out the bearing and either spin it enough to block the hole and reinstall it, or install the bearing from a kit. Personally, I just left my front shaft in cause it's much easier and I don't have to worry about having an oil leak or a blockoff plate popping out and causing a huge leak. The rear shaft, just take it out and install the stubby shaft (don't forget to pack the gears with grease!!!!!) or just cut the end of the stock shaft off. I did this too. If you cut the shaft off, you'll need to drill and tap the center of the shaft and put a bolt in it cause there will be a hole there that oil will leak out of and cause a drop in pressure.

That's all you have to worry about for blocking oil holes......which is where the front shaft is and that's it.
 
the problem is, The red circle is usually ocupied by screw type plugs. Mine ended up stripping when i removed them to take the block to the machine shop.


My balance shaft's were eliminated properly. My question is , Since the screw plugs are stripped, Will they be ok by just being blocked by the balance shaft bearings?


iM not talking about the Oil Galley Hole that needs to be blocked, But im talking about the red circle. There is a hole that goes from the outside of the block, To the inside of the block. But since the balance shaft bearing is in place, It blocks the hole. Im wondering if this is enough or should i get the holes welded shut?

It's hard to tell exactly where that hole is on the block cause you're so close to it. Is it one of the bolt holes where the oil pump bolts up?
 
If that hole is to plug the end of a machined galley hole it needs to be plugged. If not it will leak like running an eliminated engine with the front balance shaft oil holes uncovered.

It might be easier to just tap the hole for a bigger bolt or perhaps a pipe plug rather than welding it up.
