Performance torque converters?

Did you ask them to stall it up higher for you, Stator Mod, like really high?

Take finish line rpm and mph, then use TCI slippage calculator and see, might be 15%+ for sure from that explanation.

They just said this was their "Max Stall" converter.
Plan is to swap fluid and do another pull and see if it changes anything. If it doesn't, I'll send it back to be modified.

Ah, there it is, heavily modified stator blades, personally I would NOT do this with how crazy modern turbos are. IMO for most just leave the stator alone and then deal with stall separately.

Man it seems every few years we are trying to find another converter company to work on our stuff. I have a 2G slut of a converter currently-Precision billet, bradco modified, Hughes modified. It was sent to bradco for a cleaning and tighening, then hughes after a transmission failure. Your rotating assembly weight also has a HUGE affect on rpm drop between shifts, and how the converter loads up on the line. I currently don't have any converter issues, but will definitely be keeping an eye on who can work on what in the future for us when the need arises. The Circle D billet converter was going to be the end all for this issue, but not sure where we are on the priority list. Seems they've been dealing with the coyote guys more and trying to figure out things. We are definitely small fries in numbers compared to that market, so...

I spoke with Brent today. He said 1g use Florida torque converters. Precison of new Hampton he said to call and ask for Angie for 2g. They may say no as the units he had done where damaged precision converters I guess.
Just wanted to add this to the thread and say whatever you do, do not go through Precision of New Hampton. They have completely screwed me my old precision industries converter I sent them and wont do anything about it. Completely dishonest and shady work that ultimately ruined 2 transmissions and left the converter useless.

Ah damn, they weren't ready to help you, that's not the same Precision of course. Florida Torque, the only ones who successfully reverse engineered the Sinister and it's welded sprag too so you'll be in good hands. Not sure if they offer a 2g but don't see why they can't figure that out.

IMO, do not mod the FLTQ stator, just deal with stall up separately if you have issues. You want it to couple up top and modern turbos are sick so you can easily spool up a 60/62mm these days and make 700hp.

FTC received the converter back Tuesday. I got a call from them Wednesday morning and sent them a video and explained to them what was going on. They said they knew exactly what they needed to do, and will be shipped back out to me that afternoon. Should have it back by Monday, and back testing again next week.
I can say that the service at FTC seems to be pretty good. It sucks having to pull the trans and send the converter back, but with limited people running the converter, and the 1000 different engine/turbo/ect combinations everyone has these days....once they get everything sorted out I believe it will be a great option for everyone.

@awdmonster1904 care to chime in on some possible options for these guys?
I’ve kept in contact with Beans I’d like a shot on fixing it but he took it somewhere local.

Im currently working on 2g converter right now should be ready for testing hopefully by April I’ll have to send it to someone. Got some canidate …
I can’t test it until my engine is done and tuned got a lot of work to do to my car.
