Here is another shop. They are supposed to be an exceptional trans shop.

Let me say this, I bought a Level 10 rebuilt tranny, thru Level 10 themselves, and it was crap!!! Supposively all bulletproof and stuff yet went kaboom at Maple Grove. Lasted maybe 6 months or better! Not good after a few thousand dollars invested. The blame was also put on me from them and not their tranny. But my funds and recourse of action at the time was limited. Now with that said...

I am not exactly sure about the complete details of the latest occurings but I know from a SECURE SOURCE that Level 10 IS going thru legal problems concerning their practices of taking junk trannies or used trannies and NOT performing the work or parts swap that they advertise. Also they got in a bind for buying another brand and repackaging and labeling it as their own product built by them.

This isn't saying they are screwing everyone, alot of folks have gotten some good work from them obviously....but it has been frequent and obvious enough that they now have lawsuits against them.
Could very well be that they had a few bad apples in the shop sabatoging everything, but none the less I would stay away from them. Take it for what it is worth. I finally went with IPT and so far EVERYTHING has been smooth as cream.
Just my experience! (and money wasted). Try looking into IPT. I do not think you will be disappointed.

And that my automatic buddies is why Level10 is NOT listed with the other three I put up there!

Sorry guys, Just going with what I heard about level 10. Its good to hear other opinions about them though. I am actually going to IPT this weekend. Probably gonna do the end clutch, trans lab, and tq.

You will not be disappointed at all. As for my TQ, well it was from Pro Torque, it held up fine but since the rest of the tranny went out I figured John might as well rebuilt it also to his specs. So the whole driveline is now IPT. Also looking forward to some new prototype stuff IPT has in the works.

IMHO, John is the end all, say all of ATs.
My horror story with Level 10 (thank god no out of pocket except gas)
Made 12 passes in a row with no cool down at Island Dragway (newbie)
Car starts to act funny, I flip out and go to Level 10. Go for a test drive with sales rep to show my problem, then he drives (beating the hell out of my car) and says yup the trans is blown and I should go with a full out race trans. He quote me for AWD after he spun tires up and down the hills of Hamburg, and said it would be over 5,000 for everything, labor included. Yeah right! I came across John at IPT, he checked everything out, free of charge and bought me dinner, NOTHING WRONG with the trans it was the TPS. Trust me, go with IPT, you can't go wrong. Just wait for my numbers this season to prove he knows his stuff.
Oh and a torque converter stall speed should match where your peak torque is, if you're erally serious about racing with a good setup, do a custom converter. The other, not saying they're bad, are just restalled stock converters.
Good Luck

Mike

Yes IPT is the way to go! Between the customer service and the work they perform I would go with them all the way. John has stayed behind late a few times for me to drive up from Reading PA and even on days the shop would be normally closed he made accomodations if he could. That means alot.
Granted not everyone will be pleased NO MATTER HOW good the service or work done, but I can not complain one bit personally. I am glad that he redid my TQ too while the rest was being built. Thanks John.
