so for the list of my engine build and what i have go to my profile its has everything up to date.

now ive been trying to play with this engine to get it to pass smog but my HC is too high meaning im not completely burning my fuel.

like said i do have 272 delta regrinds of the hks cams.
im running the 6bolt bottom with 2g head so egr and all that good stuff for smog is still there only thing i can't figure out is why im not burning my fuel completely.

im running the 450s with stock tune on this build motor ive just tried to tune the idle, and ive checked out the entire ignition system including injectors and compression and its all good. and when i activate the misfire detect it tells me its cyl 2. but i dont trust the misfire since ive read that the 1g CAS is not accurate so i must deactivate the misfire detect on ecm link.

with that said my questions are the following:

am i not burning the fuel cause im not properly tuned even with 450s?
or
is it that my valves are not sealing completely due to the 272s?

any inside would help out.

First thing I would try is switching out to a factory cat, or one that I know works as well as factory. Are your HC's off the charts, or just barely missing the mark? Also an Italian tune-up on the way to the smog shop can help out a lot! That's the only way I passed my old 420A.

If you are running link, I would try locking in open loop mode and leaning out the idle and other testing RPM ranges they do. It's a suggestion, do you still have your EGR and all that jazz?

How would i go abt leaning out the idle on link...end yes i do have all the egr and smog stuff equiped

As mentioned, you lock in open loop mode by checking the check box for it and then adjust the DA fuel table.

If you have a WB O2, you can simulate the front O2 and change the switchover point in link from 2.49V to 3.0V. This will change your idle from 14.7afr to about 17afr. Then drop your WOT Fuel way down. I pass emissions with an egr blockoff, no cat, no mdp sensor, and both O2 sensors removed using WB O2 simulation.

Also, what are your plugs gapped at?
