passenger side tranny leak

It seems to be leaking at or around the bearings..the thing you slide the cv axle in.

I put heavy oil 140-70.. it seems to be breaking down and leaking anyway.

I can hear the bearings now.. as the oil is getting too low..why can't i just fill this with teflon or something?


What would need to be done to fix it?
 
You need a new tranny output seal just like me. You'll have to pull the driveshaft out, pop out the old seal, and tap in a new one.

Also, I believe 75-90 is the recommended weight of tranny oil.
 
Also, check the shaft for seal wear also. For a bad seal can actually cut a minute groove in the shaft where no seal can cure a leak, but hopefully just a seal replacement can cure this leak problem...

The proper gear oil for the T350 transmission is either Mopar NV-T350 gear oil, or using an ATF+4 fluid as the paper-lined synchros will break down and burn out almost immediately on thicker gear oils like 75W-90, etc.

The non-turbo 420A manual transmission is light years different than the 4G63 F5M33/W5M33 transmission that utilizes different material synchro linings. The older-style 1989 to Mid-1991 units used organic friction synchros that required GLI-4 gear oil such as an 80W-90. Later model brass synchro units from Late-1991 to 1999 still liked GLI-4 gear oil the best as the GLI-5 gear oil was too slippery to properly work with the synchro design.

In this circumstance, you will need to replace your axle seals at a minimum if there is no other damage present, but I would suspect from the bearing noise that the damage is already done and you either need a transmission rebuild or a replacement transmission. Also be sure to inspect your axles for a cause to the damage to your axle seal such as a worn or damaged CV joint. Other common causes for this damage can stem from severely worn motor/trans mounts, and severely worn suspension components and wheel bearings.

It seems like you need to do some major vehicle maintenance.
 
I have a leak coming from 2 seals right next to each other it leaks tranny fluid and I've been told u have to remove cv joints to replace em. Know what thos are called? They look like there on the transmission.
