Are there any negative side effects to painting an intake manifold such as heat soak or anything? I have some high temp caliper paint left over and was thinking I might paint the IM while I have it off.

It should be just fine. I dont see any reason it should hurt anything. Just make sure it is clean like sandblast of something to get the oil resadue off it.

It won't hurt anything. Just make sure you carefully mask off the flanges and bolt threads. Make sure also you don't get any in the manifold or the paint may flake off and go in the engine. Good luck and clean that sucker good before you paint it. Have you ever thought about powdercoating instead?

Yea, powdercoating costs money, I was originally going to polish it, but I got lazy :) I didn't really want to throw in a half polished manifold, so I think I will paint it.
