Any performance advantage to painting an intake manifold in VHT?

I understand why you would do it to an exhaust manifold but was curious about the IM.

I would guess the answer would be an astounding NO, but just figured that I would ask.

My intake manifold is not that pretty and I wouldn't mind painting it if I had more of an incentive.

If you're going to paint it anyway, I would think that a coating of VHT would help keep the IM cooler. The paint should offer some protection from the under hood temps....IMHO.

You won't see any noticeable gains, if any.

If you're concerned about it you could always try getting a thermal gasket from your intake manifold to head. They also make them for the throttle body.

Agreed the thermal gasket would be the best way to go if your looking to lower temperatures. IMHO I don't think that there would be any difference with vht paint on it.

I run thermal im gasket and painted VHT wrinkle black. It's definitely cooler to the touch than my upper intercooler pipe. Next is tb gaskets.
