My check engine light went on, and i checked the code on my datalogger, and it said P1105... I looked it up and it said fuel pressure solenoid malfunction...I got a new fuel pressure regulator in, and the check engine light went off, but the car is running very badly. The car was also running very badly before the regulator was replaced, so the only noticeable change from replacing the regualtor was the check engine light went off....

Sometimes, the car runs fine, and 10 mins later ill go and start it and the RPMs wil start to get lower and lower until the car dies....also when driving, ill push the accelerator and nothing will happen (automatic trans)...a few seconds later it will kick in and start rapidly accelerating...other times ill push the pedal or even floor it and nothing will happen and the engine just dies...does anyone know what the problem could be? thanks...

does the new FPS solenoid have the cap on the one end of it? IE that piece of plastic that had the mitsu logo on it. That seals off the other side of the solenoid. If you already tossed it, just cap it with a hose and screw or one of those nice vacuum port plugs from NAPA, just be sure NOT to buy the cheapo colorful ones. I have blown those up to look like ballons, only to have them pop. The napa ones last longer but still get brittle and crack over time.

If not that? Dunno. You could jsut bypass the whole thing. IE connect the 2 hoses together, of just run a new piece of hose from the firewall to the FPR. BUT leave the FPR solenoid electrically plugged in our you will get a CEL. (this trick might be good for troubleshooting).

In other words redo the FPR line to look like the first picture in this post and see if the car runs better: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=198327

The FPR solenoid is only used for HOT start ups. to allows for a high FP after shutting car the off to prevent vaporizing in the fuel line After a few minutes it returns the FP to regular. This could explain how your car acts differnt after a few minutes when it dies. I have bypassed mine this way since day 1 of owning the car. (I hide the FPR solenoid behind the brake resivour so the emmsion guys never see it to question a piece of emmisions equipement that is not hooked up.)

oops I ment to say "run a new piece of hose from the intake mani to the FPR bypassing the FPR solenoid on the firewall" sorry.
