Hi, new to forums, I recently picked up a used 1999 Eclipse GST. Upon getting it home it gave me new problems then what I picked it up with. I have a few problems but there is only one I am concerned about today. That is I am in LIMP mode, car will not go over 4000 RPM when in gear and driving, when I do the car jerks violently back and forth. I can force it to go over, but don't. When in neutral it revs fine.

I ran a scanner on it and came up with p1105 which is the fuel pressure solenoid. I have checked it, cleaned it and replaced the vacuum hoses it uses. When I disconnect the battery for 10mins and get in my car it will let me go over 4k one or two times then back to LIMP mode.

Can my fuel pressure solenoid cause this?

Side note, I also have an error code that came up today for my TPS, but I had the 4k rev issue before this issue came up.

I don't think that the fuel pressure solenoid is causing your issue. The fuel pressure solenoid is there to help with hot starts. You can try bypassing it by running the vacuum line right to the fuel pressure regulator to see if this helps at all.

Have you done a boost leak test yet? If I were you, I would take care of any boost leaks as well as the throttle position sensor first. These have a better chance of fixing your issues.

definately not the fuel pressure solenoid causing that issue. Like previously stated, make sure you have no boost leaks, and check out the TPS as that sounds more likely the cause.
