o/d no longer works, all other gears work perfect, no power loss or slipping, ive only had the car a month, so i changed all fluids bout a week after i got it, then i noticed o/d kickin off now and then revs into neutral. so i bumped into N then back into D and its fine. now when i try o/d its nothing and rarely it tries 2 grab for a sec. then slips into neutral, CEL(p1750) came on after me tryin 2 get o/d 2 work while driving. (flipping the o/d switch on and off). ive read on here its the end clutch, or the solenoid. trying to figure out which one it is b4 i spend money.im new to these cars, i just dont know. im a convert to dsm's from honda's.LOL

Its possible that its end clutches though when mine went out I ended up losing all gears except reverse fairly quickly.

VFAQ Site - Visual Frequently Answered Questions has some information on changing the end clutches, you don't even need to pull the transmission.

Solenoids should be relatively easy and shouldn't require pulling the transmission out either.

this is gerttin really weird, i dropped the pan 2 try 2 find the solenoids the other day, i didnt, thought they were outside the valve body, filled the fuild back up, put new fluid back in, didnt put what came out back in, and 2 day i deccided 2 try over drive, worked with no problem, stop and go traffic and a 30 mi. drive never slipped once,LOL i have no idea what 2 think now, could having 2 much fluid b4 maybe cover the solenoids inside and make em not work? last night i reset the ecu and heard what souded like a bunch of solenoids clickin by the battery, and today its workin, idk...

Monk is right. That is a information only code and you should worry about it when your o/d fails.. There is only only one way to check up on that code, it is through the data link connector. Basically, your ecm records signal waves from your tcm and if at any time the ecm hasn't received a proper signal or no signal the cel will illuminate with this code.....

Everytime I have encountered this code at my shop, it usually was the end clutches failing....:thumb:

tonight the O/D stopped again, but i turned the key off then back on and it came back on.maybe its an electrical issue?. but of course idk. this sux, do i have 2 wait for the CEL to come back on b4 i check for tcu codes? cause i reset it...the other day

Yeah you probably do, if its end clutches (it sounds more and more that way) then every time you cycle new tranny fluid through it again you should be able to get it to work for a bit but every time you do it it will last a little less time. Make sure you do a little bit of research on end clutches, I replaced mine with oem ones but now I'm regretting it and wishing I had spent a little extra on upgraded clutches so I could be a bit more confident in abusing my tranny. You could also consider doing the IPT shift kit at the same time.

see thats y im confused, i have all other gears, and they work great. so if i have the other gears what could it be? is there an O/D relay or something outside the transmission i can check? ima check for tcu codes today also, but if i dont have CEL light on, so idk if it will give me a tcu code we'll see. thx for ## help by the way.

I think what happened is I lost first but all of my end clutches were bad, when I started playing with it I got the tranny into limp mode but then I lost that too.

I don't know a sure fire way to tell without checking the clutches and at that point you might as well just spend the $80 or whatever to put better ones in.
