Over Rev = What could be broken?

So today leaving nissan i pulled out infront of traffic, and stompt on the gas. Well I broke both fronts loose and hit 7500rpm's for a solid few seconds...Now the car wont go over 2k-2.5krpms with any or no boost. Its real intermitten like its miss firing or something like that. But here's the thing there was NO odd noises at all. The check engine light came on after about 5min or 3 miles. The oils still all there all the piping is still attached. What could be the issue, I know there's many many things that could happen but what are the main ones?

That sucks. First thing would be to scan the codes to see why the cel came on. I used to spin tires alot in my ford escort at high rpms , it burnt the valves an got them stuck.

It's is also possible your timing belt skipped a few teeth, or a rocker fell off, the check engine light is probably for a misfire.

Over-revving could cause you to blow rockers off, which could bend valves. Your timing belt could have skipped, which could bend valves. You could have fouled or killed a spark plug, which could cause a misfire.

I would start by pulling the spark plugs and the valve cover real quick to check for a dead plug or loose rockers. Then check your timing belt if those both are good. Hopefully its a minor fix.

If you still have balance shafts, their bearings are the main concern. They're turning at twice crank speed, and if your tach said 7500, that's only an estimate.
