My car is idling at 200 and I don't know why, I smell gas when it's running, almost like it's running extremely rich, but the gas doesn't smell particularly rich, I took it for a quick putt around the block, and it died, and had to push it back, I'm thinking the Tps, because it was outputting .88v, so I adjusted it, but I don't know if that will fix it, before I test it, I'm going to clean the TB and replace the tb gasket. I have a video that I'll upload once I get a chance. Thanks!

Mine did the same thing when I installed my new intake. I forgot to plug in my Air sensor. Check your connection on you mass air sensor.


If you car doesnet know how much air it is intaking, it will not know how much fuel to dump. Which could explain you rich mixture.

Also check you mass air sensor and make sure it is clean.

Do you have anyone around you that you can use theirs??

no theres not anyone i can think of thats around me, other than this one guy that mssged me yesterday with a bad ass sleeper, but heres a video so you might can see whats going on: 90 gst turbo, idling problems - YouTube
ive adjusted the tps,biss and sas, with no luck. i cleaned the tb out, and no change either, only thng i can think of is isc motor going bad, i noticed it making a few wierd noises, but im no expert on how one is supposed to sound so idk, i guess im going to clean it out, and if that doesnt work, can i put a 91-94 isc in a 1990??, also, for more info heres what has happened so far as maintainance:


1. was going for a ride, and all of a sudden, the spark plug wires got caught in the timing belt, and it began driving like crap, and i cut off the engine, and noticed slack in the timing belt, so i replaced the timing belt tensioner, and did a timing job, and it drove perfectly fine for about 30 miles, and then it started misfiring, and was running rough, but still made it home.

2. i thought the problem could have been the coils, so i replaced the 90 coils with 91-94 coils, but that didnt help it any.

3. i thought it could have been the maf, so i replaced it with a 2g maf, but nothing.

4. i began to wonder what it could be, so then i took out the ecu, and looked at the board, and seen that there were 2 burned up resistors, so i replaced the ecu with a 91-94, did the power transistor swap, and it ran ok, but not great, and had idle issues.

5.i did a boost leak, and only found one in the intercooler piping, which i fixed...

6. so finally i decided the only thing it could be was the biss, so i ended up doing the sas,tps,and the biss and replaced the throttle body gasket(because the old owner just used gasket maker and im not a big fan of the stuff) and also cleaned the tb, but still no difference. so now im out of ideas other than isc... :/
