What could this be????

Ive noticed a couple of wierd things that my car has been doing lately. First of all when i let off the gas a big puff of white smoke comes out but its only when i let off the gas. It doesnt do it at idle or when im accelerating just when i let off the gas. Its a pretty decent amount also, enough to where when i was at a stoplight it came into the car because of the wind. Also i have my boost up to 16 and it used to hold around 15-16 but now it goes back and forth from like 13-16 real rapidly when i floor it and then eventually at high rpms it holds at 11-12 psi. I also smell what could be oil burning. Some people tell me its a seal of some sort but i thought id check with you guys. Should i turn down my boost to 12 until i find out the problem?

Stock T25 right?

Take the intake off and feel for endplay.
Are you losing vast amounts of coolant?
Is there oil residue on the engine/exahust?


I am leaing towards a dying turbo.

Yeah i figured it could be the end of my turbo but luckily i ordered a hrc super20g last week. So i guess its not that big of a problem. I will check the stuff you listed tonite though.

Well on my home from my girlfriends i notice something that sounds like scraping coming from what sounds like my turbo. Soon after that there was so much white smoke coming out of my exhaust i couldnt see the car behind me and my car also all of the sudden lost all of its power. So i pull over and pop my hood to find white smoke coming from where my turbo bolts to my exhaust manifold and still coming out of my exhaust. I checked the oil before i left and it was full. I check it again after this whole incident happened and i barley have any at all. So what do you guys thing it is?? Oh and i had to have my car towed to the shop i get all of my work done at because i wasnt going to drive it like that.

well thanks to you iv found my problem white smoke commin from exhaust after i shift.witch is what i was thinkin my turbo is shot do to it has 204,000 + miles on it so I'm with you man change the turbo i know cause i have a new motor with only 800 miles on it so.that must be my problem and i think yours too.

Yeah, i just dropped a brand new engine in mine also. It has about 3,000 miles on it. We replaced just about everything but the turbo and sure enough it shits out to. Oh well its not that bad because i just ordered my hrc super20g a week ago.
