Only upgrading one cam

I wanted to know if anybody has tried it? I heard the intake cam is good but the exhaust sucks. What would be the outcome of using a stock intake/264 exhaust?

Well the cam control how far and long the valve is open. By upgrading one cam and not the other your setting your car up to run like crap. See if you put a bigger intake cam you will putting more air in so you will want a cam to get the air out.

Sorry i didnt understand what you were talking about at first. Well if you find one that would mate well with the stock one it would work. But i still think it would work better doing both.

If you're going through the trouble of replacing one camshaft, then why wouldn't you go do the other next to it?

Seems to me half you guys didnt read the thread. He said that he wanted to upgrade the exhaust cam. You can also get a single cam on dsmtrader.

I cant see that causing any trouble. If anything, the car would run better. However, I'd just go ahead and do both. The idea would be similar to to only replacing half of your sparkplugs. Not very bright.
