whats up guys, just wondering with the mods i have, is this about the right in hp and tq? it seems like i should have more, the 68 hta has a very fast spool up and doesnt quit, my first real build that isnt done either.....im just kinda puzzled, all info is in profile, im also blowin out black soot at start up. Any help would be appreciated

Is that 350 to the wheels? If so that looks normal. How much boost are you running? Also, do you have any way to fine tune or are you just running a chip? Fine tuning will definitely help you squeeze all the horsepower out of that turbo.

First question. Do you not have an aftermarket exhaust? It wouldn't be a major difference but it effects an overall outcome. Secondly it could be in the tune and the fact that you used a mustang dyno. From what I hear mustang dynos typically rate hp/torque a tad lower than other dynos or dyno jets, but then again I'm no expert. I'd look into getting a dsmlink if I were you.

Yeah 350 is not bad at all. It is possible for a master tuner to make a 420+hp pull on that turbo, but in real world terms that is not bad. Sure there is still more there in that setup, but not bad.

definitely get something to tune with, DSMLink or even a SAFC.

How much boost are you running? Either way, I'm guessing you are nowhere near the limits of that turbo since you are only running 650cc injectors. I would be perfectly happy with 350 whp on that setup. Get ECMLink and some bigger injectors and look into e85 if you have it in your area and you'll see a lot of improvement.

Sounds right if your on pump. Overall I wouldn't have wasted my money on that turbo could have bought a 20g or even a holset setup with better gains sounds like you want more out of your car like 400whp

A HTA68 at 27psi with 650cc injectors and no tuning device, and you're bitching about only making 350whp.

Honestly, that's as bare-bones as it gets concerning the amount of tuning you do on a daily basis....which is none. If you had sent me a PM with your mod list prior to going to the dyno I actually would have guessed much lower- in the 310-320whp range.

You're out of fuel. If you're not out right now, you will be if you play with the timing a little. What's that? Can't play with timing? I know....buy ECMLink. You already have the EPROM ECU, there's nothing holding you back. You'd be surprised what more fuel and a little more aggressive timing can do to your power curve. ;)

The soot / smoke on startup is probably excessive fuel pressure due to overrun of the stock regulator as I don't see an aftermarket regulator in your mod list anywhere.

Well thnx for the input guys, i was just wonderin...and yes its ONLY 350 wheel hp LOL. Im still happy with the outcome, the shop i went to actually safe tuned it cause they didn't know i had upgraded internals and the car actually made 378 hp with almost 400 ft tq on the previous dyno run on 91 octane. So overall im pretty happy and yes it is a stock regulator. This car was a total peice of shit and couldn't let good potential go to waste considering i used to be a honda man but turned to the darkside :hellyeah:. The catback exhaust is a goofy size like a 2 1/2 or something but shitty so....ya next upgrade but i just ordered brakes and rotors. The shop i went to wanted to run e85 but its hard to find at local gas stations. So maybe methonal injection?? Anyways thats down the road....

You made that on 91 even and not 93? You should be more then happy with your results then. If you can't find 93 or e85 in your area, meth injection would definitely be an option to look into.

Why you need brakes. Are you racing all the time, LOL, just curious.
I think you should up grade the fuel regulator first with that high of a fuel pump!
You have cam gears in your file, not cam shafts. Are you still on the stockers?
My butt is still a virgin. I have yet to feel over 300 horses on my butt dyno. Must be something and don't get nasty with what I just typed everyone!
There are members on here with hta86. Chat with them to see where you can improve! Good luck!

Trust me im happy LOL, e85 is just at certain gas stations and i just don't feel like hunting all the time, 93 is unheard of over here in the springs

Open downpipe, a couple more pounds of boost, a couple degrees of timing, and some race fuel....say hello to 420-430whp.

Well LOL, like i said it was a peice of crap so everything basically needs replacing, i can feel the front rotors are warped for sure.... Yes im stock on the camshafts and im wondering what would be a good fuel regulator? And no im not racing all the time, i just drive like grandma until some punk thinks he's fast and gas it a little :thumb:, but im mostly driving like grandma considering i get pretty good gas mileage that way :D

Ya i was thinkin of that actually but its already loud (to me), and has that backfire like an srt 4 or something.....i appreciate your input on the whole thing, i think i got a good shop working on this with me. Im still getting the tweaks fixed with considering it was just tuned 2 weeks ago and its still in its break in period. My goal is 450 whp on this thing with other mods and tuning and yes even a DSM link, but wouldn't be depressed if it was 400 whp with a few other stuff. Also would regulator would you recommend throwing on there with this setup?

As said previously if you were to step it up to ECMlink tuning and running e85/meth inj. and possibly a aftermarket FPR would easily result in up above the 400whp mark. its amazing what a more in depth tune and e85 or meth injection can do man! as for the safe tune make life interesting go bigger! LOL

It seems like you need to get your maintenance done before you do any more mods.

Get an afpr, then you won't backfire and have black exhaust.

Who gives a shit if it's on a dyno....once you earn that 400+whp graph and you put the catback on the car again, it's still a 400+whp car to you and everyone else you show the graph to. :D

You'll make more power with better fuel, more fuel, and a way to adjust timing. There are cases where two degrees of timing can chart more power gained than five extra pounds of boost.

Also would regulator would you recommend throwing on there with this setup?
Depends on how deep your pockets are....most guys will choose an Aeromotive or something equivalent. You'll want one that allows you to back pressure down as opposed to being able to only raise pressure.

Ahhhhhhhh Cheater! On the whole dyno thing LOL, eh i won't show people unless they ask! My pockets arent that deep considering i wanted to make this thing a daily driver with some umph. But a good one nothing cheap, you always get what you pay for :ohdamn:
