I just completed a drum to disc swap for my RS. After driving, I noticed one side gets much hotter than the other - the driver's side (rear).
The hot side bearing assembly looks like this:
As opposed to the other side which looks like this:
Why? Is it normal? Is it OK?
Secondly - I freshly rebuilt the caliper on that side. Could this be affecting performance making it brake harder on that side and get hotter? I do not feel the car sway in one direction under hard braking.
Thirdly - the caliper pins were harder to push in on that side, and I had to use a clamp to get them in far enough to where I could use the threading to tighten them all the way. Could this pin resistance be causing the caliper not to release then causing more friction and more heat?
What do you guys think it could be?
