is t4 15w40 fine to run
When I bought it the guy said that’s what he ran, it is a rebuilt engine just want to make sure before I do a oil change if I should stick with 15w40 or switch to something else

Will vary by age and how the engine was built! Its not a 1 fit all and thicker oils will make more pressure but if its too think it wont lube if the clearance is too tight. Daily use also wont need super thick oils. So base it on what you plan to do with the engine and car. You can bump it from 30 to a 40. Its thicker till it gets hotter vs a 30 weight. If your cars old on the engine also the tolerances can call for a 40 to help protect older engines

Depends on where you live

I would not run that heavy weight oil in the winter.

If you plan on driving around on days where the temperature is less than 30 degrees outside then you should run a 5w30 synthetic

I typically run rotella t4 10w30 here in Texas
I live in Pennsylvania but the car is never drove in the winter and it’s garage kept.

Rotella T4 is for diesel engines. Give this video a watch and maybe reconsider using it in your 4G.

I would second Mobil 15W50 if you are not winter driving. It's available at Walmart for $30-35/5qt. The other option that is interesting, depending on engine age, is Valvoline's Restore and Protect. Some of the cleaning and restoration claims are bold but seem to be backed up with testing.
