I ordered 2 mitsu oil return gaskets from SBR for my turbo swap (putting on a T-28) however i ran into a problem, the gasket mates fine with the return going into the oil pan, but the return coming out of the turbo , the gasket doesnt match up at all.... WTF so...did i buy the wrong thing? or do i have to buy a totally diff gasket? :dsm:

atleast you got gaskets, i ordered the 2g install kit from them and only got the exhaust manifold to turbo gasket, no o2 housing gasket, crush washers, or oil return gaskets, or tbolt clamps or anything, just a jpipe, oil line, and a 90 bend and one gasket, paid 200 freakin dollars for it too

I had the same problem, I went to 3 mitsu dealers and the parts are misslabeled. so I went to the local autozone and the same thing, so they have this gasket making board...I bought it, made my own gasket and used a little bit of high temp silicone and it worked fine. Its a little $1.59 4"x4" square gasket type board that you trace the old gasket or you just trace the end of the line and cut it... after cutting the holes for the bolts dont forget to cut the hole for the oil return...I've known people who forget to do that, even tho it sounds stupid, if you thnk about it, it happens...you poke holes for the bolts, try and fit it and fits, then you just bolt it up thinking you're done and you get oil spilling from under the turbo, or even worse, with the pressure, you blow the turbo seals

ok the gasket that connects to the turbo is the same gasket that connects to the oil pan so if you feel it doesn't fit justgo to your local mitsubishi deal and its like $1.50 for the gasket :dsm:

99GSXAWDTURBO - Do you have pictures that we could see? The drain line gasket is nothing special or fancy. You can cut out your own out of gasket material.... Mine is homemade and it's been sealed, leak-free for 8 months now.

i purchased two of these: http://www.slowboyracing.com/more.php?id=1872& they only fit the oil pan....not the turbo...where did you get the gasket material??

if that was the case.....i wouldnt of posted this thread. Ive called my local mistu dealer, they have none in stock, so im opting for the gasket material....i just need to know where to purchase it

no, thats no what you need. that works for the oil pan to return line fitting but for the turbo you need something different. I would definately go to autozone and buy that shit that guy was talking about and make your own, I cant tell you how many gaskets ive made with that stuff and it works perfect.

I am a sales rep for a parts distributor, so I get mine here at my work...

But you can also find it at Summit Racing. Also, hardware stores like Ace Hardware and/or Lowes and Home Depot will have similar sheets of gasket maker material. You could also try most any auto parts stores.

Mr. Gasket part number 9611 for the fiber gasket material.
Mr. Gasket part number 9612 for the cork gasket material.

I used the "fiber", but either one should work fine. If you use a compressed fiber material, make sure the thickness is about 1/32" and if you opt for cork, get the 1/16" thick stuff. Here's a pic of the one I cut out that was used with the stock drain line when I had a 14b.....
