Oil pump timing question

Im ready to put my timing belt on, but all data is saying to align the oil pump via some access hole? Is this really needed or will aligning the timing marks be good enough?

Have you done a balance shaft delete? If you have it doesn't matter.

If you have balance shafts it's important to make sure the shaft is in the correct position. Due to the gearing driving the shaft, it's possible for the shaft to be in 2 different positions when the gear is lined up with the mark. You must put something through the inspection hole with the marks lined up to make sure the shaft is in the correct position.
 
Where exactly is the inspection hole? I do have my shafts still. The illustration isn't too clear.
