Oil Pump Question

I am doin a 6 bolt swap to a 2g. I ordered a front case, oil pump driven gear and housing. I was told the frontcase is the same as oil pump. Sounds retarted but, is that all i need? Are there any other parts to the oil pump i need for it to run? Thanks

Yes, the oil pump/ front cover, are shared in the same piece. The oil pump is inside the front cover housing.

What kind of front case did you order? OEM or aftermarket? If its aftermarket, like a Topline, they come w/ all the oil pump gears, etc. Nearly ready to bolt in.

If you order the OEM case, you also have to buy the driven gear, drive gear, and the front castle plug, if memory serves me correctly.

Yea, i bought an OEM mitsu from sbr. I got the front cover with gears. So i have front cover and oil pump driven gear, all for a 6 bolt. I am thinking i can use the oil pump gear from my old 7 bolt tho and mabye plug? Thanks

i personally wouldnt recommend using an old gear. New one is only a few dollars from josh @ JNZ. You CAN re-use the castle plug but ull want a new o-ring for it.

Related question..are 2.4 oil pump gears the same as 2.0 gears.I have only like 10,000 original miles on my 2.4 so was thinking maybe take the gears from that and install them in new case.
Also heard the topline front case aren't good.Is it their case that is a problem or their gears and if their gears do mits gears fit in the topline case.I assume the gears have to be the same physically.And are the topline gears too soft or something is that the problem?
