1G Oil pump options?

Greetings, I am building a 4g63 1g engine. The original oil pump costs more than $300. The ACL brand is good because it says it is not good for high performance engines and my goal is 500hp. I want to know what options I have because I saw that the gears are sold separately, but not if the pump that my engine brought is original, apart from the fact that it does not look in good condition

Measure the clearances on your existing pump to see if it's good.

Steve has the best advice, follow the service manual to inspect the pump and make sure it needs to be replaced.

I spent the $300. It’s literally the heart of your engine. One of, if not the most important part, and it’s a potential full tear down if it fails and needs to be replaced.

Luckily gears were still available when I bought them also.

We don’t know if you have a 6 or 7 bolt but the later helical gears are still available.

That being said, there’s people that use the acl pump with good or good enough results and at the end of the day it’s your car and your money.
