oil pan baffle

Hey guys,

I recently finished my build and ran into a small issue. The oil pan baffle off of my old motor does not line up correctly with the new motor. I sort of rigged it up but it's causing an oil pan leak.

My question is, does anyone know how I can figure out the part number for a 1997 oil pan baffle. I called Mitsubishi and they said they're all the same, which O know isn't true.

Are you sure its not on backward? I assume you mean the tray attached to the girdle?

Yeah, I'm sure. It only bolts up one way due to the hole for the dipstick. I believe that my new block is from a 96-99 7 bolt, which has a different baffle than the 94-95's

I had the same problem with my baffle not lining up properly, i ended up drilling holes in the baffle and sourcing new bolts to mount it to the girdle. Haven't ran the motor yet but i couldn't see it affecting the motor at all.

I just ran out to my garage and I have two baffles, one from a 98 and one from a 96. Both are identical.

MD308250 is the early 1995 baffle. All the rest of the 2Gs used the part Eric gave.

Sorry i wasn't thinking when i typed out my post. I meant to say that bolts i removed before i sent my block out were way too big for the holes in the girdle
