Ask Me, Virginia
I have a few questions...answers to any of them can help.

I have my oil pan down and notice it has SPI stamped in the side. Any idea if it is an OEM pan?

also...

There has been a strange very minor leak at the oil return line somewhere close to the pan. Neither the previous owner or I could find the leak but the leak was very minor like a drop a day. So now that I have everything apart, I want to try to eliminate it if possible.

Does anyone know who makes this oil return line (previous owner said he fabbed it himself but he has been wrong before) and if the fitting as pictured on the oil pan is stock? Also, can I use an OEM gasket behind that fitting if it is not stock or does that fitting need some other brand/type of gasket?

What is the pin (solder ball) looking thing on the return line that I circled in red? Also, what is that yellow piece of plastic that is coming apart (other red circle on right).

Thanks

Does the return line bolts on the pan have crush washers?

https://www.rtmracing.com/xcart/product.php?productid=16163

I solved this problem by getting a NT oil pan for a 6 bolt, I dont think this would apply to 2gs since the NT isnt a 4g63, and I had a bung welded on. I used a 1/2 NPT, give me a lot of options if I want to change turbos. I have also seen, my friend did this, use a -10AN bung.

It does have crush washers, just checked. Along with 12.9 strength hex bolts.

Are the crush washer new, or were they reused when the return line was put on? They should only be "crushed" ones. Its not recommended to reuse a crush washer.

Hmmm...don't know the history. Thanks for the insight.

Yea np, hope thats the leak

In addition, the circle on the right is probable from a support ring for the hose. similar to this pushlock style

Me too! :D

The support ring is not a part of the hose that could have anything to do with a leak right? The line says "FPS" maybe "Fragola Performance Systems" from Summit.

I have used several of their products, they are stamped with FPS. That ring has nothing to do with the leak. It just a support for the hose, or a stopping point.

Yep, that is probably it then.

Thanks.

Anyone have any ideas on what oil pan that is?
