99 Eclipse RS leaking oil from middle front after being up on jack...wheres it coming from? Please help newbie here

We'll need a lot more info to pinpoint the leak. By "middle front" do you mean near the crossmember possibly? If you're sure that it is engine oil and not transmission fluid, it could be a rear main seal. If it were an oil pan gasket or valve cover gasket leak then the oil would drip more towards the passenger side of the vehicle, since that is the lowest part of the pan. Pictures would be helpful, or even a better description of the area. There's only so many places a 420a can leak oil and I should be able to help you track it down. But we need a little help from you first.

looks like drivers side of the front center jack point...thanks so much btw

You may have to add photos to get any more educated guesses with this one. Alternatively, you could spray it down with brake parts cleaner to get everything nice and clean, and then go for a short drive to see if you can pinpoint the source afterwards.
