Oil leak

so i have a 96 gst. i had noticed that the valve cover bolts where loose so i tightened them up. then the next day at work i started blowing a bunch of white smoke out and blowing oil out the oil fill cap. so i went and got a new PVC valve and that seem to have fixed the white smoke problem but it hasn't fixed the oil blowing out of the filler cap. now i have done a compression test and everything is good. no water in the oil. nothing like that. so any ideas on the oil coming out of the filler cap????

After a while the rubber seal under the edge of the oil filler cap gets hard and doesn't seal anymore. I think you can get a new seal from the dealer. Or a new oil cap with a new seal will work too. I had the same problem, and I'd end up with a puddle of oil in the valve cover where the plug wires are. Got a new filler cap (mine was chipped anyway) and it fixed the problem. Good luck.

I had the same problem. Its funny how something so small can cause so many problems.

Those valve cover bolts are tricky!! hand tight don't tighten too much or the valve cover WILL crack!!

ya so new oil filler cap and yup still leaks so ya im at a loss any new ideas so i can stop
