after i drive my car their is always oil when i come out and look at it. my oil return line and oil pan is leaking. i replaced the gasket when i bought the car with a gasket not knowing i needed to use rtv gray or threebond. i will replace it once it gets warm. but everytime i check my oil its full. i always have a valve cover leak. could there be a bigger problem other than valve cover and oil pan. the oil seems to go all over the transfer case. there is always some oil on transfer case. so idk if its leaking from somewhere else as well. advice needed!!!

its good. i just replaced transfer case less than a month ago. filled with heavy shock proof. my old one had a leak in rear seal like always. LOL

The bolts to the drain tube on the pan side are supposed to have crush washers on them. No special sealants necessary.

To the OP.

You have to clean all the oil,, use some engine degreaser and pressure water to get off all the oil....

Once all is clean and dry, you will see where is leaking from,,,,..

Now, Concerning to the transfer case..
It doesn't need to much oil to get the transfer case all wet, an insignificant leak can get the case all wet, This is because the force of the wind will spray every single drop and get to the transfer case, Suspension, Exhaust and all underneath the car..

Yeah I cleaned this weekend and its leaking right about the oil return line. Right at that corner and from the return line. It seems to only leak out a small amount. But I put kg weld there until I can have time to take it apart and its still been leaking.

Would a part of the leak on the return line have to do with not having a turbo timer or letting it idle long enough after driving.k

good advice to clean everything and then look for fresh leak. make shure to check the level of all your fluids brake power stering washer fluid mixed with allitle oil can look like alot of oil assume nothing.

The bolts going into the oil pan should have copper crush washers on them, if you don't then it will leak.

If you can't get the crush washers (I've allways had a hard time finding ones small enough) you can break the the end off a copper electrical lug (ring terminal) and use that, or use permatex #2 non hardening on the bolt threads.

Just replace the oil drain tube with a brand new factory one. Sometimes they have small pinhole cracks that cause leaks. The turbo timer thing has nothing to do withe the leak. Good luck, I hate any kind of leakage.

yeah it had the ring washers. i think the oil pan is bent a little bit too. i ordered a new oil pan and im going to get a new return line and new washers and cross my fingers that takes care of it.
