If you have a moderately (3/4 inch by 8 inches by 4 inches) sized oil cooler and placed it inline between the oil pump and the turbo, how would this affect the pressure and the like? I'll be removing teh balance shafts from my motor, so I was hoping that due to the pressure drop through the cooler, I would maintain a moderate amount of oil pressure throughout the rev range. ( about 20-90 psi) The oil cooler has 3/8 inch inlet and outlets.

Has anyone else done this? I think it would also help as far as feeding the turbo clean, cool oil.

I'd like some racers opinions... this will be a road racing car so i'm worried about oil temperatures.

I'd not. The turbo wants its oil at normal operating temperature, not cool. With a water-cooled spool, the water is doing much more to carry off heat than the oil is.

This would be on a non water cooled turbo.

I guess I'm just worried about overall oil temps, as well as thinking this may be a good way to reduce overly high oil pressure. Any other suggestions?

Well, of course it would be. Why didn't I realize that you'd be like so many others and fill in the details of the story the next day.

Turbo bearing oil pressure is routinely regulated by use of an orifice. Ask your turbo maker for details.
