Sorry to bring this thread back again! But does anybody have the snj2tntclib.dll file. I can't find it ANYWHERE! It didn't come with the files I downloaded... If anybody has it or knows where to get it, e-mail me or IM me: [email protected] or Orionsurfer0073

Thanks in advance.

I'm probably resurrecting this post from the dead, but I have a few questions about Palm'n'Stein. I just tried it for the first time thismorning, just played with it while idling in my driveway. The car is a 96 Talon TSi AWD
I have never used a logger before but definately want to learn. I'm seeing numbers flying by my face but not sure what most of them are LOL. Some basic info as to what each one means and what approximately they should be while idling (on a stock healthy car) would be greatly helpful.

RPMs: obvious, no help needed there
O2v: front O2 or rear O2? what should the voltage be?
Timing: again, seeing numbers, not sure what it should be at any given time.
TPS: obvious, no help needed
Air Flow: ???? no units or anything just numbers
Short Trim: again no units, just numbers,
Long Trim: sam as above
Air Temp: pretty straight forward, not sure what's normal though
Water Temp: same as above
Short Trim(2): ??
Long Trim(2): ??
Load: little confusing
MAP: this one doesn't show anything
MPH: straight forward
O2v(2): again, front or rear?

some simple explanations of what each of these mean and possibly what they should be at would be extremely helpfull. Thanks alot.

I use palm'n'stein and it does take a little while to figure it out. These are the most important ones you want to log at WOT;

O2v is the voltage from the front sensor (O2v(2) is the rear). It will fluxuate between .10 to.80 at idle and part throttle cruising. At near and full throttle it will hold at.88 (lean) to.98 (pig rich)

Timing will also fluxuate. At WOT you want to see a dip where full boost hits, then an steady advance to peak RPMS.

Short trim is the ECU adding or removing fuel based on the front O2 sensor. The long trim is based on the short trim. It's like short term and long term memory and ideally they should be at +/-3.

The rest of the stuff, airflow, what's normal, etc., I can't say for certain so I'll leave it for someone who knows more than me. I hope this helps.

thanks alot, will get me started at least.

Has anyone else had problems clearing codes? When I try to clear them I get a popup window that says something like "DTC error" and has a lot of hex numbers that mean nothing to me. Do I need to put the palm in a certian mode? Does the car need to be running?

Little help?

When that window pops up hit O.K. (I don't know what it mean either). It will then take you to trouble codes and give you the option to clear them.

That's what I did, but the codes didn't seem to go away. We tried it on my buddy's wife's saturn. Might it have something to do with that?

I downloaded the tunerstein logger, player, and libraries. Both logger and player are .zip files. Should i extract all of the files out of these .zip files and into the folder i made for them before i attempt to install the libraries? The instructions on the site are a little unclear (or maybe im just missing something) on this step.

OK guys, or some of you computer gurus I need some help severely. My logger has been acting up and not recording my O2's, and not letting me use the graph scale, only the digital mode. So I have re-downloaded the zip including all three files which are the DTC, PNStein.prc, and the REG file into my received files on my computer. My Hot sync cable is attatched to my serial port on the back of my computer very snug. I've checked all of my connections and they are fine. When I plug the other end of the hot sync cable to my palm m100 and turn the power on, and mash the hot sync button it says connecting with the desktop using Direct Serial on the palm m100. I then sit and wait for it to do it's thing, and then all of a sudden another screen pops up saying the connection between your handheld computer and the desktop could not be established. Please check your setup and try again. I have checked my set up and everything seems to be plugged in right. Am I missing another file or something to get this thing to download on to my palm? Did I put the files in the wrong place for it to synchronize? After I downloaded the zip I put all three files into my recieved files folder and made a new folder for them. I'm not as computer savvy as most of you young guys, but if someone could help guide me through this procedure I would be "GREATLY" appreciated. I did this procedure two times already with no problems in the past, but this time I must be forgetting something I dunno. I'm getting mixed up where it says in the read me file to open up your palm synchronization application and select "install" and specify the three palm files in the folder you copied the files into. I have never seen anything to select "install" on my palm100. Thanks for any help!! :sosad:

Yes I know this thread is one year old but the question was never answered and I couldn't make it work either. I would also get “Palm access error: -103” but here's the reason why ... make sure the Hot sync Manager isn't operating. Just follow the read me and make sure the hot sync manager is running and your good to go. Any questions please pm me

Just curious... is there anybody on here that's still using the Palm n Stein logger, and ever noticed any abnormal readings, or inconsistencies from it when switching to a different logging device such as a pocketlogger.

The reason I'm asking is that I'm trying to narrow down a problem that I'm having with my airflow #'s and timing with my set up, and I just want to make sure that it's not the logger being way off or something. Thanks for any input!! :)

Well it seems like this thread gets a hit every couple of years so I will bump it up top again with a question that has been asked in this thread several times but there was no answer.
When I click on Palm 'N' Stein on my Palm V it says fatal error on the palm and it makes makes me restart the palm. Did anyone ever figure out how to fix this? Also is ODB Guage a better palm logger?

bump, i can't get rid of the missing snj2tntclib.dll error even though I put it in c/windows/system32. I'm running vista. Why doesn't anyone ever respond to this thread?
