I have 16g turbo looking to run 39psi, what do you guys think I will run in the 1/4 mile my

Also I order 75shot NOS kit, I was wondering will my diamond plate floor pan fall out when i ht the nos button, also will the manifold be at risk? Also I just got my 9 speed installed. What do you guys think?

I think your gonna blow the welds on the intake.
Then me and the mad scientist are gonna have to rip apart the block and replace the piston rings you fried!!! :nono:

Hey all, while I'm not new to diamond star motor's vehicles (my first being a 1990 montero rs), I am new to trying to tune them, my eclipse has, from what I gather, a 2.4l sohc 16valve in-line 4-cyl engine in it, and I am curious as to the potential of it, mated to a 5-speed automatic trans, fwd,. First thought is to replace trans w/ 6-speed manual, before making major changes to the engine, BTW, anyone have a ballpark idea of what I can get out of the engine? Had already thought of trying a dohc + twin turbo type setup, but am unsure as to the results, engine has 117k miles on it and wondered if I'd be better off with new engine or rebuilding current engine. Everyone's thoughts and ideas are welcome:thumb:just pm me any thoughts/ideas:)

I just picked up a 93 GSX. The car has the stage three buscher racing shortblock, unknown brand 272 cams, 16g turbo, 660cc injectors, buscher racing 3" exhaust, big tial bov, apexi tuner...I think that's everything. I bought the car without a cam sensor, I got one and am hoping to get it running today.

What is the potential of a car with these mods? I'm not sure as this is my first dsm, but I have somewhat high expectations. I've seen others with stock blocks in the 12sec range with a slightly bigger turbo.

So my question is, what numbers would you expect this car to make with these mods? As far as HP/tq and 1/4 mile time
 
Stock it has like 210hp. Do you know if the car was tuned already? What brand of 16g is the turbo? Running pump gas? 93 octane ? E85? All that changes it, just putting on a bigger turbo doesn't nessasarly give it more hp if it is not tuned right. I've seen some with similar setup run 300hp.
 
My car is near done and getting tuned on e85 this weekend. Well this older guy, which happens to be my friend's cousin keeps running his mouth and wants to run me at the local 1/8th mile track (lame). Well anyway I just want some opinions...because I don't know if i'm just cocky or delusional from my car being down so long. But anyway, he has a 93 cobra with a built 351w with a borg warner s474 on 15 psi with a T56 trans and 373 gears. He claims "800hp" on boost and "1200hp with nitrous...but then he told me he has a 75 shot LOL. Well ive seen this car rip through all the gears and my guess would be more along the lines of 650-700whp. He's full weight, no cage, no subframe connectors, no traction bars. OH and its a carb blow thru setup on pump gas.

My car: 91 gsx....borg warner s366, smim/q45, fic 2150's with dual 044's, ptt twin disk, aem ems, a big front mount and some corn.
I'm hoping to run around 35-38 psi with retarded amounts of timing ofcourse(e85) and I know I should be easy around 700whp. My car weighs 2800 lbs with me in it and a full tank (10 gal cell). Previously my car was on 18psi and I was around 450whp, when I got a good launch, 1st 2nd and half through 3rd were useless LOL.

I really hate bench racing, and I'm not nervous at all, but ive been biting my tongue.
 
15psi is a nice amount of boost for a 74mm on a built 3xx based off a 351 block it could be 408ci for all you know.

If it was auto that thing will rip in the 1/8
 
If he can hook, he's gone.

Carb'd 351w based motor and a Borg S400 with a single shot would be a ton of fun, similar to my plans for the next project.

A short (for a turbo fox) 3.73 rear and a manual is going to require a good driver, some chassis prep and a nice tire though.

Your car must be terribly setup, or have bald tires. I'm making north of 500whp and it just gets a little loose in 2nd, far from useless.

As far as the fox goes, as mentioned, if he hooks you're toast. My friend has a basic 302 with an HX40 on 15psi on pump gas and he traps 130mph. Fox's are also considerably lighter than our cars, so thats another factor.

Just because its a carb car, and on pump, doesn't mean anything. He hooks, your done, ESPECIALLY in the 1/8th, you might be able to chase him up top, but not in a 1/8th race.
