Deep River,
Mods are in my profile. In any gear with me on the gas it holds 0-2 counts of knock all the way to redline but when i clutch and shift but logger flashed 38+. I've been reading on phantom knock and all other causes but i can't figure it out. Any help would be great. Thanks.

I have the same problem. I get little to no knock until i lift off the throttle. Sometimes it will also knock a bit if i just rev the motor in neutral.

I had this terrible bad.Sometimes 43 counts max off idle leaving the lights on boost or off.It killed my launching lost to vw diesel rabbits when it did this!! :thumbdown
I changed out knock sensor, did the mopar combustion chamber cleaner, swapped ecus, did it all but the knock off idle was still there. And sometimes it was there at other times making tuning impossible and very frustrating.

I finally cured it with purhase of eprom ecu and custom chip with the now famous phantom knock elimination code. Its awesome know.Ran to 15psi on stock sidemount with my 50 trim and zero or 1 count knock retard.yep 1 count.17psi gave me 4 or so.So can now tune perfectly and off the lights I rule just about everyone although still have to put in new clutch best 60ft on my portable gadget is only 2.0. Still on wet or icy streets 2.0 is pretty decent.!!

But I think the problem is noisy lifters. When start car the lifters tick bad and it gradually goes away. The oriiginal design lifters are crap. The oil holes are too small and they clog easily and make noise. The new design solve the knock problem for many dsm guys.I have some to install but no big rush now as the chip has cured my phantom knock.I conside the phantom knock code a gift from the Gods and think we have Kyle Tarry? to thank for it.I was ready to drive my car into a brick wall, now its so much better to drive.
And so much faster!! :D

On cold days when the oil is thick my car will often do some 30+ nock counts at idle. I have attributed it to the fact that my lifters sound like someone is beating on a coffee can with a socket wrench. Id guess you are suffering from something simular to my problem.

I was able to get the nock to drop a bit by running some engine cleaner crud through the engine. Likely you would have like results.

Thanks alot guys i guess i'll try and find some of the revised lifters. Kind sucks though because i just had my motor all ripped apart in the summer. Wish i had of none this back when i was doing the rebuild.

The lifters are real easy to replace. It only takes about an hour if you have done it before but look on 2 hours for your first time. Its real simple. All you need is a long thick flat bade screwdriver to pry them out and install the new ones. Also look into your exhaust hitting somthing causing the knock. I still have some lifter noise with the 3gs, but all goes away when the engine is hot. I am also getting light load knock I think I over tightened my new knock sensor so it real sensative right know.
