OEM or 4 layer?

How good is the stock manifold to head gasket? Do you really need the 4 layer?

I assume you're talking about exhaust manifold. 4 layer will help to seal if your manifold is warped, which it most likely is. You can always get your manifold surfaced, and then you don't need to worry about a 4 layer to help make sure it seals. It cost me $25 to get my manifold surfaced. It's up to you if you which way you want to go to make sure it seals. 4 layer is cheaper versus surfacing, but not much. Seems like more of a band-aid, but if it seals, who cares?

hmm, my manifold could very well be warped. For some reason ( i think a timing issue) my manifold glows orange more often than not, so after all those cycles of heating and cooling......Is the OEM mani gasket a 2 layer gasket?

OEM is 2 layer.
