Ok here is the scoop first off, I bought a brand new head, about 1,000 miles ago, new timing belt, new water pump, new cam, and crank sensor, coil, wires, plugs, pcm, and a wiring harness. Dealership replaced everything car ran great up until this week. My CEL has been on due to Bad EGR valve. The car would run fine except if I was driving for about an half hour, it would sputter .and lose power until i put her at WOT. I found if i kept the RPM at about 3.2k it would stop the sputtering. Then this morning it got really bad, had to roll home in second gear, would not stop sputtering. I picked up a new EGR valve and through it on. The problem is now I am idling at about 6-750 and sounds like she has a "cam"

Kind of at a lost here, and would rather not send her back to the shop, especially as I have dropped over 2k in parts and labor in the last month. Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.

make sure the exhaust passages in the intake manidold are clean and not blocked so take the valve back off and thoroughly clean out the passages with throttle body cleaner and reinstall the valve making sure thee are no vacuum leaks at that also you may need to invest another set of spark plug the prolonged rich running could very well have ouled them out as well

Never thought about my plugs since my rebuild, they could very well be fouled, since there was a lot of cranking back when my cams were seized, plus the bad egr valve. I am going to replace them tonight and see how it goes.

adjust your idle screw on the throttle body:hellyeah:

420a does not have an idle screw, only adjustment is by putting tension on the throttle cable by moving the bracket.

Well, either way, adjusting the idle is not going to solve my issues. I found that if I plug the vacuum line at the EGR valve my idle returns to normal. Blocked or not, I Still am having hesitation issues and sometimes my RPM stays up even when I let off the pedal, I usually have to Up shift to get it to go down.

I got my codes read,

P0403- EGR control cuircuit
P0340- Cam sensor circuit
P0171- Lean cylinders 1-4

I bought a new EGR valve and while I was replacing it, I found wires melted to the the EGR tube. Which I corrected.

My Cam sensor is new, checked all the wiring, did not see any issues.

Coil, plugs, wires, fuel pump, Crank sensor, are all new.

When the car hesitates my CEL flashes, like a loss of power, the car has no balls. When I turn left the car will stall unless I keep the RPM around 3k. I have good vacuum at the EGR valve but should I have it at idle? I was under the impression the EGR wouldn't open until around 1500 RPM? It almost seems as I don't have a lot of exhaust coming out of my tailpipe at idle. She idles very low and rough. It is very hard for me to get under the car due to the side skirts and lowering. I also replaced the battery terminals, they were a little loose and stock. If i plug the vacuum line at the Egr valve, it helps smooth out the idle but the hesitation when driving still persist as well as the stalling on left turns. I have not found any vacuum leaks at this time and no other wires hitting the EGR tube.

I would like to fix this issue myself but I imagine I am going to end up taking her to a shop...again Which would be horrible considering I have put over 2k in her in the past two months. :/

If you spent that much money at the dealership and your having a problem after 1000 miles, I would bring it right back.First of all it sounds like when they put on the head, they did not tie up the wires properly ,causing them to burn up on the EGR tube(bring it back). It might of shorted out some fuses also. Also sounds like they left you with a Vac leak that they should fix.
