Very odd problem.

Ok so I have a very weird problem, I woke up this morning to see that I had a 5 foot slick of what looked like oil behind my car ( Keep in mind I haven't driven the car for 2-3 days) so I went out to see what it was. When I got out there and looked closer and took a smell it smelled like gas but it was oil.. So then I look to see where its coming from and I saw a puddle of this oil gas stuff under my gas tanks. So I look up and see it dripping off that skid plate thing that is uder your gas tank. I am trying to remove it to get a closer look but I think you need to drop he diff and exhaust to get it fully off so I'll get back later with what I found. Does anyone have any idea what this could be? What caused it or what the heck had to happen to leak oil and gas from around my gas tank? (Btw I checked the diff and it was bone dry, and I checked the frame/rails and stuff leading to the engine bay to see if it ran down but they are dry as well) Help WTF

It happened to me couple of years ago, I though it was something big like the fuel line. Long story short, lift the rear seat up and check the gasket around the fuel pump.

Yeah I just checked and there are fuel fumes and the area around it has gas on it, but that still leaves the question of where the oil is coming from :/ Did that also happen to you with the oil?

it could be gas that has run off and become thicker and discolored because of it eating away at the undercoating?? just a thoguht
