This is not the same old oil pressure problem. I searched and could not find the answer to my particular issue.

I have a 2G with 1G swap

Alright so here is the problem. I bought this car setup in this manner and have some issues. First SB said that oil feed to turbo is on the block of the 1991 1G motor. my oil feed is coming from somewhere else (pictures below) . But anyway I have very little oil pressure. Before when we checked the oil pressure (we have a gauge, but just to DOUBLE check) we disconnected the feed line, and cranked it (not over just a twist of the key to turn the oil pump on for a second) and it shot a good 20 feet. Now when we do that, it Pours out SLOWLY. (Note that this is the smae setup that it shot 20ft across the room)

Any ideas about either why it is hooked up this way, what way SHOULD it be hooked up, or what my oil pressure problem is would be GREATLY unappreciated.

Thanks,
Lindsay

It should be coming from the left side (throttle body side) of the head.. A small bolt that goes in to the side of the head.. I would think that there would be other places that it could come from, but with the stock feed being on the head, it would be easier to run it from there..

I would definetly fix the oil return line. The pictures are kinda hard to see but it looks like half the return line is rubber and half is braided? I would use one or the other not both together. Also the kink in the rubber part of the return line is something you want to get rid of.

Indeed, I saw that (The kink) when I was under the car. I will probable use braided all the way for that. And relocate the line to the block. So why would someone relocate the line to the oil filter connector?

More importantly though is WHY do I have low oil pressure? All of this stuff was just like it is now when there was good oil pressure and all of a sudden with no notable change my oil pressure disappeared.

I have my 16g fed from the oil filter housing with no problems at all...

Did the motor run fine with good oil pressure before the headswap? Was the Balance shaft kit installed before or after the headswap?

I would not soley base the oil pressure being low by the oil shooting and not shooting across the room from the oil filter housing. Are your gauges hooked up correctly? Have you started the car at all?

Started once, gauge was reading nill oil pressure which is why we tested it the physical way. Everything is hooked up right. And yes the oil pressure was good as the car sits now, we didn't change anything between the oil pressure being good and being bad. three days ago - Car ran fine good oil pressure, two days ago car stars no oil pressure. Today troubleshooting

Alright, we got most of the car back together now, and we are readdressing the oil pressure problem.

We swapped the sides of the oil return line so that it is getting freshly ported oil now. The oil feed on the top of the motor is still plugged, but we did so better than the previous owner did.

We checked oil pan, and oil pump, both are functioning properly. We get REALLY good oil pressure directly from the pump to the housing, but once it hits the housing zeroish oil pressure (we had the gauges plugged into fresh oil and unfiltered oil spots and neither got pressure. We pulled the turbo feed line and oil just poured out instead of sprayed out.

So, oil pressure problem is in the housing, but what would cause it, we took the housing off and everything looked fine! Any ideas?
