I have a 92 laser and when i bought it the guy said the oil pressure gauge only works sometime. well after having it a while ive notice that it says that it has around the correct oil pressure when i first start the car and it is not warmed up yet, but when it gets warm it goes down to almost none. ive also read that the oil pressure gauge is one of the actual reliable gauges on our cars so i think the guy was just saying its broken? Ant ideas or ways to tell if its broken or if im just not getting oil pressure? What could be the problem if the gauge is working correctly and im actually not getting oil pressure? Thanks in advance any advice would be appreciated

Most likely your oil pressure is fine.;) You should just get a quality aftermarket oil pressure guage like Autometer etc. and be done with it. Also, if you haven't changed your oil in a while or if you use something thinner like 5w30, it usually shows up pretty low on the factory guage when the car is fully warmed up.

I agree it sounds like the sending unit, when they get older the spring inside tends to get weaker. Change it and you should be good to go.
