Okay so here's my situation, about a week or so ago I really overheated my engine unfortunately, but luckily the only thing to come out damaged was my thermostat (which for some reason decided to start working today). No signs of blown head gasket or warped head. But lately I noticed my oil pressure guage (stock) seems a little low at idle. So I was just wondering if something could be damaged causing my oil pressure to be low, or am I just stupid and is that about the normal oil pressure for idle?

its a stock guage so its not that accurate , Ive never had a 2g but in my 1g the gauge reads that low after its warmed up,
my aftermarket gauge is at like 32psi when warm so I know Im good, Id have to say your ok as long as it reads higher with RPMs. If your really noid about it add an aftermarket gauge theyre pretty afforadable.

I forgot to add that, yeah I haven't changed all the oil in my car since it overheated. When I say not all I mean I drained some because after it overheated I was very low on oil, so I over added some oil, then drained a bit out to at least get some of the old oil out.

I'm going to do a oil change asap, maybe that's why it is a little low. Thanks guys, and sorry for asking somewhat of a dumb question LOL, just wanted to try to catch it before something worse happened.

Edit: And yes, oil pressure rises normally when driving.

I don't pay any attention that gauge to be honest. Until I get my AEM oil pressure gauge in, I only worry if my oil light comes on.

Agreeing with everyone on the stock gauge sucking. Actually when I was under it I pulled the stock sender's harness and cleaned it up a bit, now my oil pressure reads better, but still low. Screw it.

Rear gauges are cheap and easy to put in.

Old gauge can be off for any reasons ranging from cracked wiring to a kinked hose.

i know that the stock gauge is junk but i havnt had any problems with it from what ive noticed, always reads like it should. But thats of course after i soldered the lines together to get a better reading so well see how long it lasts for
