hey, ive been searching thru the web to try to find an obd1 reader for my car but all it seems to show up for was for honda nissan ford and gm. then i tried looking for a obd1 to a obd2 adapter but it showed only for hondas and it showed me a datalogger for my car which i dont need at the moment. so can neone tell me where to buy an obd1 reader for my car or an obd1 to a obd2 adapter? my car is a 1995 eclipse gst.

i wish LOL. 96 and up its obd2. i even went to autozone to see if they cud do the obd2 reading and the guy was like oh i cant do it ### ## car is an obd1 and we dont do those.

LOL. well i asked my friend who works at a shop to look at my car and he said its an obd1 and that he would need to get an adapter peice for his obd1 reading ### it was different.

Your friend is also full of crap and doesn't know anything about DSMs.

All 2G Turbo DSMs are OBDII I don't know jack about the neons in DSM clothes and don't know what they are.

Got it?

ive had the same issue. since some of the 95 eclipses were built in 94 the will be odb1. it is highly annoying since I cant find one either. shits rough man LOL

FYI: obd2 "talks" to the scanner in a complicated communication scheme (much better and many, many more signalling protocols and messaging formats) passing all kinds of information (hundreds of bytes) using a standard all U.S. car manufacturers must adhere to. Obd1 pretty much just pulses an error code and all car manufacturers implemented it differently (thus you need a different scanner for every manufacturer). So there never can be an obd1 to obd2 adapter as the two are completely different things using different signaling protocols.
