So I read that even if you have a 2g you can still have an obd1 is this true? I have a 95 tsi manufactured in October 94 also is there any advantages of having an obd1 (tuning wise etc) thanks an advanced I don't know to much about ecus WTF

No, all 2g DSM's have OBDII. Most of the early 95's (94 prod. date) have an EPROM ECU which will save you some time and money when it comes to tuning.

+1 to all 2gs are obdII. I allways had a hassle with mine trying to get store to read codes. They would try to tell me 95s were obdI.

Mitsu made the switch a year earlier than was mandated.
