Could someone please tell me what this one code means and how to fix it, i'm at my local internet cafe so speed would be great.

i went to autozone and they said that the OBD-II said P1494 and that means SPCUT solenoid circuit malfuncion

thanks any help would be appreciated. :dsm:

I have been runing around ALL DAY trying to find out what this code means does anyone knwo what it means and how to fix it? P1494 thanks

You likely have a vacuum leak and a big one at that. Or you have a 1:1x10^50 chance of the LPD sensor going bad.

As far as I know this is a N/T specific problem as the turbo cars do not have such a sensor.

i called mitsubishi and they said there is a problem in the solenoid. what is a solenoid and where is it and so on sorry for my ignorence.

You would most likely replace the whole solenoid being that is the problem. Buy a new one from a parts store, or take a chance on going to the junk yard, and it not being worth a crap. Depending on what solenoid it is, you could run into some money. But remember, the codes that you retrieve from scanners and like-devices put you in the AREA of the problem. That doesn't necessarily mean that the solenoid is the complete source of the problem. :talon:

How do you check to make sure a solenoid works, and where can i get one if i need one replaced? i've tried my local auto part stores and they dont have one. its my EGR solenoid. :dsm:

hey did u find ur answer yet?... because i can find out at work tomorrow if i remember... i have all data at work and thats no prob i can find what the deal is then either print it out and then scan it and send it over... or probably be better to copy and past then email it to you... it will say what the code is and how to fix it step by step... but its not in plain easy english... its in mechanic terms which isnt all that understandable sometimes... let me know

Where the heck is the Evaporative Emissions Ventalation Solenoid. i've looked all over my engine (97 gs NON TURBO) they have a crappy picture in my chilton's book so i cant tell where it is. could someone please help me out. thanks. :dsm: :dsm: :dsm:

thanks.

what do you mean power on and off the car? the solenoid? like by the fuse or what?
