Hello, I am obviously new here. I was the admin of Celica.net in its prime, and co-founder of celicatech.net. I hate to bug you guys with such simple questions, but all of my experience lies in the 3S-GTE platform. I recently purchased a 98 Eclipse GST for my son; and between the hack job I am finding and lack of knowledge on the 2G to 1G swap.

It has a fully built 1G engine (internals, machining, porting, both block and head). I was impressed with the list, but I am having a little bit of buyers remorse, since the 1G swap occurred before the previous owner. He has been no help. The only thing they did to the car is add a gen 3 evo turbo. It was hacked on and did not even have the primary O2 sensor hooked up. I found out after I bought the car that he never drove it after he swapped the evo turbo in (and hacked through the exhaust and wiring). I was fooled by an aftermarket O2 sensor for the gauge (for the celica, we tapped the stock O2 wiring for quick and dirty AFR).

There is an O2 sensor in the midpipe (between the DP and the catback). It is aftermarket and is plugged into a harness that appears to head into the firewall and probably to the AFR gauge.

The evo3-specific eBay DP they chose could not accommodate the stock O2 sensor. I put the stock DP back on, and screwed in the stock O2 sensor, but I have no idea which of the several empty car-side/female harnesses to choose from. There are at least three. I was able to eliminate one.

Could you help me with the following picture to identify what I have here?

PIC 1 - Harness 1

PIC 2 Harness 1 Wires (Articles on here denote three blues, but do not mention the stripe color. I think this is it.)

PIC 4 Harness 2 Wires (Articles on here also mentioned red, black, yellow, white. But these seem to shadow aftermarket I have seen.)

BONUS QUESTION
This was in the same general harness. Any idea?
PIC 5 - Harness 3

Thanks very much in advance!!!!!

Edit:
Here are pics of the down pipe O2 sensor and wiring. If you could help me identify it or the brand, I would be very appreciative.

Thanks. I had that thread you linked to printed out already.:thumb: I was just hoping for a confirmation of sorts. I went with the red, black, yellow, white harness per that link. I have not had a chance to pull codes yet. Nor do I know what the other harnesses are for still.

I have another question. I do not have any knock sensor codes, but the car will stutter like a machine gun when the boost gets close to 7psi. I am assuming this is a reaction to a knock reaction, or is it related to the O2?

The car is running a 190 fuel pump and has no mbc. I am curious as to why it would pull timing/fuel at such a low boost level? Again it is a 1G engine with an evo gen3 turbo. It had an ebay special DP and did it. I put the stock DP back on, and it is still reacting that way. It is definitely not surge related as some threads pointed too as the boost gauge is reading no more than 5-7psi.

I am thinking it is still code related? Something like a limp mode? Or would this be solved with bigger injectors and a FPR?

I hope my noob status is not killing my chances at help. I even tried to donate, but cannot yet. :( Thanks to everyone who can help.
