Need help wiring a 1g o2 sensor to a 2g wiring harness. I need it because my 2g o2 is bad and i have like 3 1g o2 laying around that are like brand new. I was wondering if it was possible. If so please help asap!

be careful... o2 sensors measure the DIFFERENCE of the oxygen content outside to the oxygen content inside the exhaust. the oxygen from the outside is brought in through the WIRES going in to the o2 sensor. if you were to solder wires and use certain shrink wraps it could cut off that oxygen supply down the wire and then it would cause a false reading. but then if you were to not seal the wire properly it could corode. also o2 sensors only produce about 1 volt so any resistance in the wire or any solder joint will also cause a false reading.

Damn, if i mess anything up will it blow my ecu? If it will ill just hook up my shitty ecu and find out LOL.

Hooking the wires up correctly but soldering them will not harm your PCM. The problem moparmad explains is that the signal that the PCM receives may not be accurate, so fuel control may be compromised. To verify correct operation, after doing your rewire, ensure that the oxygen sensor is cycling rich-lean (.1-2 to .8-1.0 Volts) by measuring off of the signal wire. It should be the yellow wire on the harness side (by the book-I own a 1g ;) )If the sensor just reads low all the time, the sensor is bad or you have incorrectly wired it.

Keep in mind that the universal Bosch sensors are different for the two vehicles and without myself going out and measuring the current that is used by both sensors, I wouldn't trust just swapping out (although it sounds like it gets done quite a bit). If the 1g sensor uses more current, that current goes into the PCM and can hurt the driver. Common enough on other vehicles- I'm just expressing concern since Amperage values aren't stated anywhere. I guess I should get off my lazy but and measure them! Stay tuned!
