I had some questions about o2 dumping in general and some about exhaust. I was planning on getting a 2.5 inch cat-back for my 1g awd. But recently I have started to reconsider. I would like to have a little more power and the aggresive sound is a nice side benefit. However, would I be able to get the same power from a 2.5 inch o2 housing with external dump? Would I even be able to bolt-on the 2.5 inch housing onto my stock exhuast? If so would it even be tolerable as far as noise level?

I don't think you would notice ANY increase in power with just a upgraded o2 housing. Even though the wider o2 housing might allow more flow, your tiny little exhaust pipes are still bottle-necking the system. From what I understand the external o2 dump isn't really aimed at increasing performance, but instead it helps eliminate the boost creep problem. Why don't you just upgrade your exhaust, and use a silencer for it whenever you don't feel like being loud?

Or you can install a cut out but yeah the most you will get from the 02 dump on the stock exhaust is noise.
