I have a 1998 Eclipse GSX with a stock turbo, GReddy Type RS BOV, Apexi N1 Full 2.5" Turbo Exhaust and some 18" Montegi Rims.

I have no clue where i should go from there. Will ya'll guide me and throw some mods out you think I should go with?

Thanxs

+1 on the air filter hehe

any brand you'd reccomend? K&N or what? and anything else? i'm 19 and make 2 grand a month so moneys not really a big deal

Get 4 identical tires...dont mix and match on awd. Then its up to you, I'd go with an intake (and filter :p) and maybe some hard piping with a fmic. Then you can start going for some bigger better mods with the turbo, manifolds, and fuel upgrades. Dont forget a nice tuning device on the way down your path.:dsm:

Alot of people go with K&N...I myself run one and its fine
Also get that BOV recirculated, cant tell if it is or not...

Just throw out some brand names for those parts ### i know all of the brands but just not which are better quality (and those were the tires that were on when i bought and they have been replaced with identical ones) :)

timing belt covers. If they're off just because you want that look, get the clear ones. With the way it is right now, it's a matter of time before a rock or something goes through there and messes with your timing. As far as mods go, fuel pump rewire/upgraded pump. You'd have to do all the supporting mods, for it, but an upgraded turbo could be a good option, really depends on your budget. Aftermarket boost gauge is always a good investment, and a wide band O2 would be good too before you start playing too much.

Car looks great, keep it clean IMO. I agree with the Wideband if you plan of upgrading quickly. If you stick with a smaller turbo go with a MHI 16g, either of the options (small, big, evoIII) then a MBC to crank the boost alittle. If money isnt an issue, I hear that the ETS FMIC kits are pretty good but alittle pricey. If you start getting into fuel upgrades like fuel pump, injectors, etc...look into a SAFC to get it tuned, but again you should get a wideband to do this.
P.S if you want a boost guage I just took one out, PM me if you're interested its perfect.

no my BOV isnt recirculated but it idles fine and ive had no problems with it. is that weird or???

get a turbo from a 1 G and evo 3 o2 and keep your 2 G exhaust manifold better plug wirers and spark plugs this is a great begener start

get a 16g there great but make sure its a ligit one

+1 on the timing belt cover, dangerous to run without a cover. i would recirculate the bov until you get something like link v3 or something to compensate. even then i still would recirculate the bov. engine bay looks pretty clean and i'd try to keep it that way, start with all of the maint. then move on to supporting mods before you start swapping turbos etc. wideband O2 is a great investment and just read up on the upgrade path and search around a bit, i'm sure you'll find a ton of info :D

will something happen if my BOV isnt recirculated?

The biggest past of running it unrecir. is having unmetered air. It will just basically run bad at idle or when you come to a stop and disenguage the clutch because the MAF is not compensating for the air coming out of the BOV. As for making it run slightly rich or lean Im not sure, but running a car slightly rich does NOT hurt the car its much better than running it lean.

not true, your car will run rich, and if it does over time IT WILL start to damage things.

ok i ran my old dsm like that for a year and ran fine but at the end of the year it locked up and made me walk about 60 miles now i always recucilate im over the sond thing now it can sound like if its fast and if painting my car pink wouil make it faster then i would !!!!! LOL but every one should recucilate no matter what !

that is very true however from everything that i've been reading running too rich (which is what happens really when it's not recirc) can cause things to go bad as well, if i remember right it effects the rings over time, and can never say for sure how long that would take just depends on the car/engine.

and also causes gas to be in oil and that aint good

all you need is a hose to go from the recirc part of the BOV to the intake inlet for it and that's it, minus the 2 hose clamps that go on each side hehe.

injen intake, k&n filter, doesnt really matter just get rid of that one you have and put a decent cone filter on it. there's a few free mods you can do also just read some of those links and there's plenty of stuff to keep you busy until you come across more funds if that's what holding you up ;)

So basically a few thoughts:

-FMIC ETS, or Bushcur's
-fuel pump/rewired wallbro255, would be fine, I would go Bosch 044 in tank/there was article on DSMTalk about it/.
-turbo...16G or 20G, might as well go to HX-35
-Injectors... depends on turbo sizy, but anuthing above 660's/ I would get RC, or the new FIC with blue top
-some sort of Engine management/AFC, DSM Link, standalone, like AEM,or Autronic/
-After all that get someone, who is reputable tuner and have your car tuned
-THE BEST PART - ENJOY !!!

check the classifieds in this site. if not, dsmtrader, or ebay. If that doesnt work, the junkyard
