Not boosting properly?

hey guys im having trouble getting my car to boost past 10 psi i have a small 16g turbo and front mount intercooler and the car never seemed to have much power since i got it running, today i got a boost guage to see what is was running and 10psi is what it max's out at. checked all clamps and tightend if needed. also my blow of valve is really loud it sounds like im venting to the atmosphere but im recurculating it. so i don't know why im not getting high boost i should be able to hit like 17 psi with my set up. could it be my wastegate or turbo itself. hope you guys can help

i would check the wastgate and make sure it isnt getting stuck open. pull off the down pipe and pressurize the gate and see if its opening up premature.

Boost leak maybe is your waste gate or you say that bov is loud do you have a 2g or 1g bov because 2gs those leak bad of you have a 1g check your hose thats is recicularted properly but tells us what bov you have and that could the problem

Or better yet, did you do a search? Cause if you did, the first thing you would have seen for any boosting issues is people doing boost leak tests. Don't be lazy.

Hi guys. im having trouble with my car. For starters when i hit on the throttle in 2nd gear and up hitting wide open throttle the car seems to hesitte but keeps climbiling in speed but hesitating while doing so. and my turbo hits 20psi everytime from 3rd gear and up and i cant stop it from doing this i have a forge manual boost controller and i keep turning it down and its still hit over 20psi.
and one other thing is when im getting good boost my boost shows the needle going up to 20psi and then drops to 10 whats going on with my car im ready to give up and sell it im told these cars can be pretty fast dont get me wrong the car is fast but no mustang eater maybe if i fix these problems it will be. \so can somebody please help me before i loose it and sell the car ps is it normail for the turbo to glow bright orange

Have you checked all your vacuum lines? Particularly from the boost controller to the wastegate? From what i know, dropping from 20psi to 10psi could be a vacuum leak or maybe a fuel cut. Is it the stock turbo? Or a bigger turbo with stock injectors? Turbos do get red hot and "glow orange" but typically not for that long. If you have time to run it and get it that hot, then climb out of your car, pop the hood and still see it that hot, there may be a problem. But as i stated before, give us some more details so we can try to help you out.

yes i have a small 16g turbo on it stock injectors and now today its making a weird noise like a sweaking noise while spooling

You are way over running your injectors. People experience fuel cut at 10 PSI with a 16g sometimes, it just depends.

You should not be running more than 10 PSI at all. If you feel the need for more boost you must have the supporting mods. If you don't you are going to wash down your cylinder walls with unburnt gas and delubricate the bearings and eventually spin one.

FYI gas is a SUPER POWERFUL degreaser and a horrible lubricant.

Basically it's about as close to not even running oil at all as you can get with out actually removing the oil.

You need bigger injectors or to turn down your boost

Also look into upgrading the fuel pump

If you keep turning your boost down but still spike at 20psi you should check the line from your boost controler to your wastegate. I have had that disconnected before and it did the same thing.
