Happy weekends guys,

Car is a 1998 GSX that came with an aftermarket dash bezel mounted boost gauge. Upon removing the dash bezel the line running to the autometer boost gauge completely came off from the vehicle side. Looking under the drivers dash and firewall I cannot find where the tubing was connected to, and even better looking at the intake manifold there is no T fitting or anywhere I can see where it was ran to. Could this have been tied into the factory boost gauge by chance?

Any other suggestions where else to look? I'm no longer using the boost gauge since the car is running stock boost but I definitely don't want the boost leak. I will upload pictures tonight of the intake manifold and vaccum lines in order to help narrow down where it could have been tied into. The other issue is that the tubing was extremely long and coiled up so I cant even use the length of the tubing to determine where it was coming from.

Thanks for any assistance, first DSM vehicle, you guys have been extremely helpful so far and I do appreciate it.

It wouldn't have been connected to the factory boost gauge. They are run electronically by the pcm. If the car doesn't have a loud exhaust I would try idling the car and listening for the vacuum leak. If you can't find it that way and cant find it digging around you should be able to do a boost leak test and hear it that way. You'll probably find a few other leaks too. ROFL It can seem like a never ending battle sometimes

Gotcha well that rules that out! Exhaust is loud on this one :/ A boost leak may be my only option. Are there any other areas to tap into other than the intake manifold or one of the lines going to it?

The intake manifold is the only place that you see both vacuum and boost so it has to eventually connect but the question is is it direct or tapped into one of the several hoses that run from it.

On my car I tee'd off the line from the intake manifold to the fuel pressure solenoid. It needed to be before the solenoid because after it sees atmospheric pressure during hot starts.

I figured that was the only place, i'll take some good pictures tonight and upload them...ill let the experts (you guys) chime in.

You might try spraying carb cleaner or starting fluid around different areas whule the car idles. If the rpms jump, your leak is in the area you sprayed. A BLT will ID other trouble spots too though...

That’s the issue I can’t find any vaccum line in the engine bay. It was only under the drivers dash
