I put 3" straight pipe exhaust on my AWD 1g Talon, and I'm trying to decide what muffler to get. I heard to get Flowmaster, then I checked the forums here and it seems like not many people like them on the turbo DSMs. I saw on here that Magnaflow was popular, but I was told they only sound good on V8s. So I'm lost I have no clue what to get now. I want the deepest quietest sound possible...and ideas/sound clips/web site links/etc. would be great.

Hey man go for the Megan Racing N1 they sound awesome, nice and deep plus for $100 bucks you can't go wrong!

Hmm, I checked them out on ebay, and they look kind of like a ricer can to me, with the silencer in I'm getting the quietness, but losing my hp gains from the 3" exhaust. With the silencer out I'm afraid all I'll have is the ricer sound.
I'm not going on knowledge of Megan Racing, just what the thing looks like, so I don't know.

I love my Magnaflow. Just a slight rumble louder than stock at idle but sounds like a jet at WOT.

How the hell does it look ricey? How does it sound ricey? I have a Megan Racing N1 Turbo muffler. It sounds EXACTLY like the one they use on the Buschur cat-backs; I have the BR cat-back but switched mufflers due to how loud it was. I couldn't even hear my friggin stereo. Silencers help a lot, if you actually look around you'll find vids of my car with both mufflers.

The problem with Flowmaster is that they still use a baffeled design which doesn't flow as well a Magnaflow, or any muffler that uses a straight through perferated core.

with a nice 3" pipe and a straight through muffler your car will never sound "ricey". so say thanks to your turbo.

i'd go with the magnaflow. never heard anything bad about them really. personally, i have the new dejonpowerhouse turboback. it's just a small 3" bullet muffler with a 4" tip. sounds awesome at idle and a beast at anything over 3/4 throttle. it's a little loud cruising at about 3k though.
